Historic-Cultural Institute of Aeronautics

The Historic-Cultural Institute (INCAER) is a Brazilian Air Force organization created June 27th, 1986. The institution is charged with preserving Brazilian aeronautic memory, as well as being dedicated to researching and registering facts related to aviation.

The buildings headquarters housed the Seaplane Passengers’ Station of the Santos-Dumont Airport, inaugurated by then president Getulio Vargas in 1938. In 1942, it came under the management of the Ministry of Aeronautics. Due to its historical importance, the building was declared a heritage site on January 29th, 1957, maintaining its original form.
